Do you do "Botox"?
A lot of clients ask this - but the answer is a little more complicated than the reality.
Botulinum toxin is a substance which must be prescribed by a medical professional following consultation with a doctor. This is because there are certain medical conditions and drugs that some patients take which may mean it is ill advised to receive injections of botulinum toxin.
So what is Botox? Botox is the brand name of botulinum toxin, specifically produced by a company named Allergan. Allergan are also known for creating Juvéderm fillers which are widely regarded as the best and most popular fillers in the industry.
It is illegal in the UK to advertise a prescribable controlled substance, unlike in many other countries such as the United States. That is why you will often see injections of these treatments being advertised or alluded to as "Anti-Wrinkle Injections".
On the other hand, as fillers such as Juvéderm do not need to be prescribed, these can be advertised on posters and websites
